Soldier's civilian experience helps save K9

October 9, 2020 — U.S. Army Sgt. Carlos Patino has been a civilian nurse for eight years and flight nurse for three years, but this was the first time he ever treated a dog for cardiac arrest. “I am going to be completely honest and tell you that the training for medics to treat military working dogs has been very minimal,” said Patino. “There was no training that would have prepared us for this situation.” MORE

Return of two U.S. Army logistics support vessels to U.S. marks end of more than 20 year mission in the Middle East

Besson-Class Logistics Support Vessels and their crews arrived at Third Port at Joint Base Langley-Eustis, Virginia, Oct. 8, marking the completion of more than 20 years of support to U.S. Central Command and U.S. Army Central. Task Force Spartan Soldiers Leverage Communication Channels to Enhance Delivery of Information

September 30, 2020 — Ingenious Soldiers from Task Force Spartan's intelligence section created a podcast to enhance skillsets innovatively and broadcast important information to a broader audience. Soldiers currently deployed to Kuwait under Task Force Spartan's- 42nd Infantry Division recently broke norms by creating a weekly podcast to intensify their understandings of historical topics and spread their intelligence knowledge to a broader community. 28th ECAB digging in for Mideast mission

September 30, 2020 — Soldiers with the 28th Expeditionary Combat Aviation Brigade have arrived in the U.S. Central Command region and are settling into their respective roles. They are in the Middle East, within CENTCOM’s area of responsibility, to provide aviation assets and capabilities to help increase regional security and peace in the region while serving U.S. interests. Task Force Spartan Hosts Battle of the Bridges Staff Ride

September 29, 2020 — On Aug. 2, 1990, unprepared and undermanned, the Kuwait Land Forces, 35th Brigade took a stand against invading Iraqi forces just east of Jahra. Spartan Soldiers were given a chance to take part in an in-depth tour and learning experience to learn more about their host nation, alongside members of the Kuwaiti Armed Forces and veterans of the battle. Birds of a Feather: Twin pilots get Apache flight together

September 23, 2020 — Mazar-i-Sharif, AFGHANISTAN -- When the 11 year old, identical twin Smith brothers saw their first helicopter static display, the boys knew they both wanted to fly. Now both chief warrant officer four, Isaac and Stewart Smith are both flying helicopters for the U.S. Army. MORE

2nd BCT, 1st Armored Division, Takes Charge

September 23, 2020 — The 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 1st Armored Division assumed control as Task Force Spartans’ armored element from the 30th ABCT during a transfer of authority ceremony held Sept. 14, 2020, at Camp Buehring, Kuwait. The 30th ABCT is based in Clinton, North Carolina, and has a long history serving our great nation dating back to World War I and leading up to the Global War on Terror. MORE
