Emirati Land Forces Commander inducted to U.S. Army CGSC International Hall of Fame

Young-at-heart linguist, 82, completes 28-mile "March For The Fallen"

October 16, 2018 — When service members and civilians signed up for the Oct. 6 March For The Fallen – a 28-mile ruck march hosted by 28th Infantry Division/Task Force Spartan Soldiers training in Jordan – they had to indicate an age group. Of the more than 100 registrants, only a dozen marked the “45+” category. For one marcher, the plus symbol represented nearly four decades. MORE

Joint Training Center expansion in Jordan enhances interoperability

October 13, 2018 — U.S. service members training in Jordan had the opportunity to participate in an Oct. 10 dedication ceremony for an expansion of the Jordan Armed Forces Joint Training Center. The new JTC wing provides service members a modern facility as the U.S. military and the Jordan Armed Forces continue to enhance interoperability by pursuing training opportunities together. MORE

Camp As-Sayliyah Hosts Army Ten-Miler Shadow Run

October 11, 2018 — While the Army Ten-Miler is an annual event partaken by many service members throughout the world, it is an especially unique experience in the middle of the desert at Camp As-Sayliyah, Qatar. MORE

Task Force Spartan service members march for the fallen in Jordan

October 9, 2018 — Task Force Spartan service members training in Jordan honored the sacrifice of fallen comrades through a recent endurance ruck march mirroring the 28th Infantry Division’s annual trek in Pennsylvania. MORE

Competitors in the March For The Fallen–Jordan attempted to cover 28 miles in less than 11 hours while carrying 35 pounds. Marchers stepped off at 5 a.m. after event registration and a brief memorial ceremony.

The ceremony recognized the exceptional achievements and contributions that Hispanics have made in fighting and safeguarding the nation throughout history. MORE

Qatari and American Soldiers Build Camaraderie at Weapons Range

October 1, 2018 — The 578th Brigade Engineer Battalion, currently assigned to Area Support Group Qatar (ASG-QA), joined their Qatar Central General Depot (CGD) counterparts for a weapons familiarization range at the Qatar Special Forces Range Compound and the Al Ghalail training area, from September 09, 2018 to September 12, 2018. The range provided a unique opportunity for Soldiers to build rapport with the Qatari soldiers from a Qatari base near Camp As Sayliyah.

Exercise Bright Star 2018 Senior Leader Seminar

September 22, 2018 — The Egyptian Training Authority, with U.S. military support, invited over 36 nation's militaries to the Exercise Bright Star Senior Leader Seminar, Sept. 17, 2018. The seminar provided the attending nations the opportunity to focus on best practices for counterinsurgency, border control, terrorism and other irregular warfare challenges. MORE
