USARCENT holds best warrior competition

Spc. Drummond Smithson, an air defense battle management system operator with Company A, 5th Battalion, 5th Air Defense Artillery Regiment, disassembles an M18A1 Claymore mine during the 3rd Army Best Warrior Soldier and NCO of the Year Competition June 2. Seven Soldiers vied for the top spot over four days of challenges, including an Army Physical Fitness Test, a 12-mile foot march, various physical challenges, a combatives tournament, Warrior Tasks and Drills, and a comprehensive board covering basic Soldier knowledge.
