Task Force Spartan Soldiers from the 1st Battalion, 14th Field Artillery Regiment, 75th Field Artillery Brigade, showcased their ability to rapidly deploy High Mobility Artillery Rocket System (HIMARS) launchers anywhere in the U.S. Central Command area of responsibility within hours during AMDEX 21-1. Air and Missile Defense Exercise 21-1, which started Oct. 12, develops and exercises tactics, techniques, and procedures against simulated air, cyber, force protection and missile threats.

As Theater Army and Coalition Forces Land Component Command (CFLCC), USARCENT enables the Joint Force in named operations and partners with regional land forces to build enduring coalitions that CONSOLIDATE gains against Violent Extremist Organizations (VEOs), COUNTER Iranian malign influence, and COMPETE against Russia and China; while simultaneously RESETTING the Theater for future operations and READY to prevail in crisis response and contingency operations in support of USCENTCOM.

Landing Afloat
October 26, 2016 — Soldiers assigned to Alpha Company, 1st Battalion, 111th Aviation Regiment, 77th Combat Aviation Brigade, conducted deck landings in the Arabian Gulf Oct. 11-12. The UH-60 Blackhawk and AH-64 Apache crews took turns landing their aircraft aboard the USNS Alan Shepard to qualify their crews in this type of maneuver... MORE

Upon completion of the qualification each set of aircraft was refueled by the vessel and flown back to Camp Buehring, Kuwait.
