Task Force Spartan Soldiers from the 1st Battalion, 14th Field Artillery Regiment, 75th Field Artillery Brigade, showcased their ability to rapidly deploy High Mobility Artillery Rocket System (HIMARS) launchers anywhere in the U.S. Central Command area of responsibility within hours during AMDEX 21-1. Air and Missile Defense Exercise 21-1, which started Oct. 12, develops and exercises tactics, techniques, and procedures against simulated air, cyber, force protection and missile threats.

A CH-47 Chinook helicopter, operated by Soldiers with Bravo Company, 2-104th General Support Aviation Battalion, 28th Expeditionary Combat Aviation Brigade takes off from an airfield for a local area orientation flight in the 28th ECAB's area of operations after arriving in the Middle East. Shaw Air Force Base, SC – A Soldier assigned to U.S. Army Central was killed in a vehicle crash 13 March. The incident occurred near Hopkins, SC in Richland County.
The cause of death is under investigation by the South Carolina Department of Public Safety. They can be contacted at (803) 896-8747 for further information. The Soldier's name is being withheld pending next of kin notification.
