The U.S. Army and the Royal Army of Oman are spending days training side-by-side during exercise Inferno Creek 19. The bilateral exercise was designed to strengthen relations between the two militaries. It is an opportunity for both militaries to build tactical proficiency and gain shared understanding of each other’s forces and support long-term regional stability.

The Minnesota National Guard unit's headquarters and headquarters battalion assumed responsibility for the Task Force Spartan mission to from the Pennsylvania National Guard's 28th Infantry Division. The 34th's HHBN is serving as a division headquarters for roughly 10,000 Soldiers conducting theater security operations in the Middle East.

Rubaye, the oldest participant, posted a time of 10 hours and 19 minutes. James, a medic with 1st Squadron, 18th Cavalry Regiment, 79th Infantry Brigade Combat Team, California National Guard, walked the last 11 miles with Rubaye as a safety precaution.
