New treatment plant to save costs, help environment

Vance, construction management operations OIC for the 206th Engineer Battalion, shows a new wastewater treatment plant that recently started operation at Al Asad Air Base, Iraq, April 11, 2020. The facility, which cost about $4 million to build, is expected to save money, increase security and help the area’s environment. Soldiers assigned to Task Force Spartan Shield wash their hands at the entrance of a dining facility April 8, 2020, in the U.S. Central Command area of operations. To help prevent the spread of COVID-19, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommends washing your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. The CDC also recommends disinfecting frequently touched surfaces, avoiding close contact with those who are sick, covering coughs and sneezes with a tissue, cloth, or the inside of your elbow and observing social distancing guidance.
