Task Force Spartan Soldiers from the 1st Battalion, 14th Field Artillery Regiment, 75th Field Artillery Brigade, showcased their ability to rapidly deploy High Mobility Artillery Rocket System (HIMARS) launchers anywhere in the U.S. Central Command area of responsibility within hours during AMDEX 21-1. Air and Missile Defense Exercise 21-1, which started Oct. 12, develops and exercises tactics, techniques, and procedures against simulated air, cyber, force protection and missile threats.

28th Infantry takes over Task Force Spartan
March 8, 2018 — The 28th Infantry Division’s headquarters and headquarters battalion assumed responsibility of Task Force Spartan from the 35th Infantry Division during a transfer of authority (TOA) ceremony at Camp Arifjan, Kuwait. As the 35th wraps up its nine-month deployment, the 28th begins serving as a division headquarters for roughly 10,000 soldiers conducting theater security operations in the Middle East... MORE

March 7, 2018 — Soldiers of the 202nd Military Police Company were patrolling Camp Arifjan, Kuwait, on March 7, 2018, when they received the call: two simulated shooters were attacking Soldiers at the base’s Zone 1 fitness track. U.S. Army Signaleers Vital to New Strategy in Afghanistan
March 6, 2018 — In recent Congressional testimony, Gen. Joseph Votel, commander of U.S. Central Command, described the new way forward, “The South Asia Strategy reaffirms the U.S. government's enduring commitment to Afghanistan by reinforcing the two complementary military missions: the NATO-led train, advise and assist mission; and the U.S. counterterrorism mission." Massachusetts Guard replaces Kansas Guard at U.S. Army Central
