From a warehouse in Al Adied Air Base, Qatar, Soldiers with the 824th Quartermaster Company, Detachment One, “Riggers,” work an assembly line to prepare packages for delivery. And for Riggers, delivery means dropping items from airplanes flying at 10,000 feet and placing them in a football-field-sized landing zone. These riggers provide on-the-ground commanders with ways to deliver needed supplies.

Detachment NCOIC, 824th QM (Det. 1), “Riggers”

Lede: While the need for moving troops via a D-Day-like Airborne assault is a rarity, riggers deployed overseas stay engaged preparing supplies and equipment for airdrops. If it can fit inside of an airplane, riggers can figure out how to drop it safely.

Tag: The 824th Quartermaster Company, “Riggers,” is manned by over 20 Army Reserve Soldiers from the 421st Quartermaster Co. out of Ft. Valley, Georgia.
