Death of U.S. ARCENT Soldier
Shaw Air Force Base, SC – Officials have released the name of a U.S. Army Central soldier killed on March 13, 2022, in a vehicle crash near Columbia, SC.
Staff Sgt. Patrick Flannery, 30, of Portersville, PA enlisted in the Army in 2012 as a 13F, Fire Support Specialist and has been assigned to U.S. Army Central since November, 2018. 
His awards and decorations include the Army Commendation Medal, the Army Achievement Medal with four oak leaf clusters, the Army Good Conduct Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, the Army Service Ribbon, the Overseas Service Ribbon, and the Non-Commissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbon.
“The Warrior Family is devastated by the unfortunate and untimely passing of Staff Sgt. Flannery, an outstanding soldier and leader in our organization" said Lt. Col. Todd Harkrader, Commander of Headquarters and Headquarters Battalion, U.S. Army Central. "This heartbreaking loss affects every person in the Warrior Battalion. We send our condolences to his family and friends, and our prayers are with them during this incredibly difficult time."
