Soldiers to compete for title of 2018 USARCENT Best Warrior

By Sgt. James Larimer U.S. Army Central

U.S. Army Soldiers from across the U.S. Army Central area of responsibility came together to register for the 2018 USARCENT Best Warrior competition, June 27, 2018, at Camp Arifjan, Kuwait.

The best warrior competition will run from June 28th to June 30th at Camps Arifjan and Beuhring, Kuwait.

"Competing against other individuals, especially in the best warrior competition, puts our limits to the test to see who is going to be able to perform, not just physically but mentally," said Sgt. Adam Everett, a military policeman assigned to USARCENT Personal Security Detachment. "It builds one's confidence."

Sixteen Soldiers will participate in the competition, which is being held to promote morale and cohesion and to reinforce the importance of individual excellence within the profession.

"It's a camaraderie thing," said Spc. Alexander Dillon, a military policeman assigned to USARCENT Personal Security Detachment. "We can see how we can push each other, they can help me, and I can help them."

The events are designed to test the Soldiers physical readiness as well as their technical and tactical knowledge.

The winners will move on to represent USARCENT at the Army best warrior competition at Fort A.P. Hill, Virginia.

"If I won that would be incredible," said Everett. "I know I would be making myself proud, my teammates proud as well as my unit back home."
