By Sgt. 1st Class Doug Roles Task Force Spartan

Soldiers with Headquarters and Headquarters Battalion, 28th Infantry Division/Task Force Spartan, had the opportunity to attend a Special Olympics 50th anniversary event at the Kuwait Towers July 19, 2018.

The event gave the soldiers an opportunity to socialize with Special Olympics organizers and meet athletes.

U.S. Ambassador to Kuwait Lawrence Silverman and Sheikha Sheikha Al-Abdullah Al-Khalifa Al-Sabah – a senior official of the Public Authority for Sports and honorary chairperson of the Kuwait Disabled Sports Club – were among several dignitaries on-hand to pay tribute to the organization.

As the sun went down, the towers were lit up in honor of the anniversary.
